2024-02-12 French GEIPAN has got a new Director: Frédéric Courtade

Long gone are the days when a Jean-Jacques Velasco could stay at the helm of GEPAN/SEPRA for 22 years…

Vincent Costes only spent two years as a director of GEIPAN (the Study and Information Group on Unidentified Aerospace Phenomena within the French National Space Study Center, CNES).

Such a short management nevertheless allowed him to organize the second edition of the CAIPAN (Collecte et Analyse des Informations sur les Phénomènes Aérospatiaux Non identifiés) international workshop, in October 2022, which was a success.

Vincent Costes has now moved to a department in charge of key meetings and expertises for CNES projects. His successor, from January 2024, is Frédéric Courtade, about whom little is known for now: after obtaining his Master’s degree in Science from Toulouse University, he joined CNES in 1991 and led the in-house expertise lab for technology and failure analysis of electronic electromagnetic and electrical components. He has also worked on nanotechnologies, planetology and bioastronomy.

Let’s hope he has a genuine interest in UFOs.
